One of the most special thing about having twins is the unique and sweet relationship they have. They are truly best friends. Sometimes we find them chatting together all snuggled up which melts our hearts ♥
Geocaching
I wanted to try out geocaching with the kids. There are apps that you can put on your phone where geographic coordinates are given to you that lead you to an area where a treasure is hidden. Once you find the cache you taker a look at it, record your name and date you found it and then re-hide it for the next person. It’s a neat way to get out into nature and treasure hunt!
I downloaded the app and discovered there were quite a few nearby at Mount Douglas Park. On a snowy day we geared up and went for a walk. The app brought us to a general area and we had to look around using clues to find the hidden container. We found a few and it was pretty fun.
Valentines Day
One of our favorite things to do is create Valentines Day cards for Claire & Rhys’ classmates. Every year we pick a favorite design and the kids work diligently on them. It’s a fun craft. This year Claire wanted bumblebee valentines cards with little bee erasers and Rhys chose monsters with googly-eye rings.
Super cute!
Snow Day! 2019
It snows maybe two to three times a year in Victoria and usually not enough to stay home from school. Boy oh boy did we luck out. We had a few days at home with a lot of snow. The kids loved it and so did we. Our yard is sloped so we can sled and snowboard from the back to the front. It’s so much fun! There was even enough snow for Jimmy to walk up nearby Mount Tolmie and snowboard all the way down the steep hill.
Vancouver & Deanna’s 42nd birthday
I was scheduled to attend a mining conference in Vancouver which is always held the same time as my birthday. This year was a real treat because Jimmy, Claire & Rhys came with me for a night. We visited the kids favorite shops- lego & American Girl, dined out, and had fun adventuring around.
New Year nature walk
Victoria is home to beautiful parks, forests and beaches. There is so much to explore. We started the new year off with a visit to Gyro park and Mount Tolmie….
Christmas 2018!
We had a very nice and relaxing Christmas this year. It was just the four of us for Christmas morning and Debbie joined us again for brunch and a movie later in the day.
Claire & Rhys woke up WAY too early as usual so Jimmy and I are looking pretty tired 😉
Holiday piano recital
The kids are doing so well with their piano skills. It is really lovely hearing them practice daily. It’s also a nice thing to perform in front of an audience.
Here is a short excerpt from both of their performances.
